Terms & Conditions

These terms explain the arrangements that apply when booking appointments, purchasing services or products, and using gift cards at Oliver Stephens.

About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to appointments, services and purchases made with Oliver Stephens.

Oliver Stephens is operated by Cutting Remarks Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.

Company number: 05941800

Registered office: 237 Westcombe Hill, London, SE3 7DW

Salon: 2a D’Arblay Street, London, W1F 8DQ

Appointments, deposits and cancellations

We ask clients to give at least 48 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

A deposit is required when booking our services. For technical services, the deposit is normally £100. For other services, the deposit is normally 50% of the appointment price.

Where an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice, the deposit will be refunded or dealt with as agreed with the salon.

If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, or a client does not attend their appointment, the deposit may be retained.

Late arrivals

If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate you.

Depending on the time remaining and the service booked, it may be necessary to adjust the appointment or make alternative arrangements.

Colour services and skin testing

A skin test is required for new colour clients and for clients who have not visited us for a colour service within the previous six months.

The test must be carried out at least 48 hours before your colour appointment. We may be unable to carry out a colour service if the required skin test has not been completed.

Please let us know about any relevant allergies, sensitivities or changes in your circumstances before your appointment.

Consultations

Some services require a consultation before an appointment can be booked or carried out. This may include significant colour changes, colour correction and hair extensions.

Consultation charges, where applicable, are shown on our website. During your consultation we will discuss your hair, the result you would like to achieve, the services involved and the expected price.

Specialist services

Hair extensions

Hair extensions require a consultation so that we can assess your hair and discuss the most suitable option, the amount of hair required, maintenance and the expected cost.

Payment for extension hair is required before the hair is ordered. Because extension hair is ordered specifically for the client, please discuss any changes or cancellations with us as soon as possible.

Maintenance requirements will be explained during your consultation. Extension removal must be booked with the salon in advance.

Perms

All perm services require a consultation before the treatment is booked. This allows us to assess your hair, discuss the result you would like to achieve and determine whether the service is suitable for you.

Clients under 18

Colour services are only available to clients aged 16 or over.

We do not otherwise operate a general minimum age for salon services, although we reserve the right to decide whether a particular service is appropriate for an individual client.

Prices and payment

Prices shown on our website are intended as a guide. The final price may vary depending on factors such as the length and thickness of your hair, the service required, the time involved and the amount of product required.

Where the price of a service may vary, this will be discussed and agreed during your consultation.

We accept payment by card, cash and bank transfer. Unless agreed otherwise, any outstanding balance is payable at the time of your appointment.

If you are unhappy with a service

We want you to be happy with the service you receive. If you have any concerns about the result of an appointment, please contact us within seven days so that we have an opportunity to discuss them with you.

Where appropriate, we will arrange to assess the issue and will work with you to rectify it.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Retail products

We sell selected haircare products in the salon. Used products cannot normally be returned simply because you have changed your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

Online shop

Our online shop is provided through SalonIQ. Orders placed through the online shop are subject to the payment, delivery, cancellation, returns and refund terms provided as part of that service.

Please review the applicable terms when placing an online order.

Gift cards and vouchers

Oliver Stephens gift cards and vouchers are valid for one year from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.

Gift cards and vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash. Any applicable terms shown when purchasing a gift card or voucher also form part of these terms.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

If you have a question or concern about an appointment, service, product or payment, please contact us so that we can try to resolve it with you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, policies or legal obligations. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms were last updated.
